Business Loan in Singapore

Personal Financing for Business Owners

BST Credit offers a business loan in Singapore for directors of ACRA-registered companies who need funds quickly. Loan terms follow the same fair, transparent rates as our personal loans, based on your personal income, so there's less paperwork than a typical bank SME loan.

Loan Purposes

What Can a Business Loan Be Used For?

Whether it's bridging a cash flow gap or funding a business expense, a business loan gives you the flexibility banks and SME financing schemes often can't offer smaller business owners.

Managing Cash Flow Gaps

Cover day-to-day expenses, supplier payments, or payroll during a temporary dip in revenue.

Purchasing Stock or Equipment

Fund inventory, tools or small equipment purchases without waiting on a lengthy bank approval process.

Bridging Between Contracts or Payments

Manage the gap between completing work and receiving payment from a client or contract.

Covering Unexpected Business Costs

Handle a sudden repair, renewal fee, or other unplanned business expense that can't wait.

How a BST Credit Business Loan Works

Built around you, not your company’s financials:

  • Meet our business eligibility criteria (ACRA-registered Pte Ltd, director residency, 6 months in operation)
  • Loan amount and rate are based on the applying director’s personal income, not company financials or years of audited accounts
  • Every fee and rate is disclosed upfront, capped within limits set by the Ministry of Law

Once your business meets our eligibility criteria, the loan itself works just like a standard personal loan: assessed on the applying director’s personal income, rather than requiring audited company accounts or a lengthy financial track record the way many bank SME loans do.

As a licensed moneylender, we still explain your loan contract clearly before you sign, covering the loan amount, interest rate, repayment schedule and fees, so you know exactly what you’re agreeing to.

How Much Can I Borrow?

Once you meet our business eligibility criteria, the maximum you may borrow at any time, across all licensed moneylenders in Singapore combined, is based on the applying director’s personal annual income and residency status, as shown below, not the company’s revenue.

Not sure what your monthly repayments might look like? Try our Loan Calculator to get an estimate before you apply.

Annual IncomeSingapore Citizen and Permanent ResidentForeigners Residing in Singapore

$10,000 but less than $20,000$3,000$3,000
$20,000 and above6 times the monthly income6 times the monthly income

Loan Amount Limits Explained

These limits apply specifically to unsecured cash loans in Singapore. Here’s what borrowers should keep in mind:

  • The unsecured loan limit applies across all licensed moneylenders combined, not per lender
  • Your actual approved amount will also depend on your personal income, existing obligations and repayment ability, not your business’s revenue or size

If your business needs a larger amount of financing than a personal loan can provide, it may be worth also exploring bank SME loans or government-backed schemes such as Enterprise Singapore’s financing programmes, which assess your company directly and can offer significantly higher amounts.

Interest Rates and Fees You Can Expect

What We Can Legally Charge

As a licensed moneylender, we are bound by strict limits set by the Ministry of Law. Here is what applies to your business loan:

  1. Interest capped at 4% per month
  2. Late interest capped at 4% per month, charged only on the amount that is overdue
  3. A late payment fee of up to SGD 60 for each month of late repayment
  4. A one-time loan approval fee of up to 10% of the principal amount

Borrow Responsibly

Before taking on a loan for your business, take a moment to consider whether the repayments fit comfortably alongside your personal income and existing commitments, since this loan is your personal responsibility to repay, separate from your business’s finances. Borrow only what you need. Our responsible borrowing checklist is a useful starting point before you apply.

FAQ

Business Loan FAQs

Answers to common questions about personal financing for business owners in Singapore.

To be eligible for a business loan, you’ll need to meet the following:

  • Your business must be a Private Limited Company registered with ACRA
  • The applying director must be a Singapore Citizen, Permanent Resident, or a foreigner residing in Singapore
  • The business must have been in operation for at least 6 months

Once you meet the business eligibility criteria above, your business loan follows the same terms as a standard personal loan from a licensed moneylender. The loan amount is based on the applying director’s personal annual income and residency status, and interest is capped at 4% per month, the same limits set by the Ministry of Law that apply to all our unsecured loans.

Bank SME loans and government-backed schemes assess your company’s revenue, financial statements and trading history in detail, and typically offer significantly larger loan amounts as a result. A BST Credit business loan is assessed on the applying director’s personal income instead, which can make it a faster, more accessible option, though the loan amount available is smaller, in line with standard personal loan limits.

Licensed moneylenders in Singapore are regulated by the Ministry of Law to keep borrowing fair and transparent.

  • Interest rate: capped at 4% per month
  • Late interest: capped at 4% per month, charged only on the overdue amount
  • Late payment fee: up to SGD 60 for each month of late repayment
  • Loan approval fee: up to 10% of the principal, charged only once when the loan is granted
  • Total of all charges combined: cannot exceed the loan principal

You’ll generally need your company’s ACRA business profile (BizFile), the applying director’s NRIC, FIN or passport with a valid pass, and supporting documents. Please contact our office for more information on what’s required for your specific application.

You can check the official Registry of Moneylenders maintained by the Ministry of Law. Always apply only through official websites or verified contact channels to avoid unlicensed lenders. Read our full guide on how to check if a moneylender is licensed for a step-by-step walkthrough.

The Registry of Moneylenders cannot negotiate with lenders on your behalf, as this is a matter of private contract. If you’re facing financial difficulties, you may wish to approach a social service agency for credit counselling and help negotiating a repayment plan, such as Credit Counselling Singapore (6225 5227), which handles cases that also involve bank debts.
